Boudreaux’s Butt Paste Can of Whoop Rash $19.99

That's right, today we look at a baby item!
If there's anything I know about as a momma it's rash cream!
My child's bottom is extra sensitive because of a birthmark. :(
We have to put something on his little tooshie every diaper change.

I've used many different types of rash creams.
I've used "knock-off" brands and leading brands.
I was running out of Baby Aquaphor® (favorite at the time) and had a sample size of Butt Paste.
I decided to give it a try! At first I wasn't impressed.
The product is very thick with a strange smell.
So, I put the product aside and bought more of another product that works, Aquaphor.
(We'll save that for another time.)

Noah had an allergic reaction to whole milk causing the worst diaper rash I'd ever seen. I couldn't get it to heal with anything. I was at the point where I needed to find something for his comfort and safety! I decided to take a trip to Babies 'R Us, where I found the Can of Whoop Rash.
I had nothing to lose and it was on sale anyway. So, I bought it.
As soon as we got home I tried out the maximum strength paste. The next morning I noticed a huge, dramatic, miracle of a change! (I checked his diaper every hour)
His skin wasn't blistered, the color went from fire engine red to a very light pink, I could touch his skin without him screaming in discomfort!

I'm one happy momma!

Nothing has worked as well as Boudreaux's Butt Paste®

Fun or Flat? October 18, 2013

Wet n Wild megalast salon nail color: $1.99 ea.

  • I'm wearing the color 201 C Wet Cement.
  • The color payoff is great!
  • It takes 2-3 coats to get no streaks and great shine.
  • I've been wearing this color for two days with no top coat. ONLY ONE nail is chipped!
  • Does have a strong smell, like most polishes.
  • Bad thing: this product line is hard to find. :(
  • Look in drugstores. I found mine at Kmart.
FUN! Try out these fun shades and colors! The line has over 40 colors and you can't beat the price!

Fun or Flat? October, 11 2013

So, today starts a new series of my blog!

I'll name a product and provide a photo and go over the details with you.
By the end of the description you should be able to tell if I like the product or not!

First product?

Mary Kay® Foundation Primer Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 15*

*over the counter drug product
$16.00

Here's the website's description:
This lightweight gel glides on easily to fill in imperfections and dries quickly to a matte finish to create the perfect canvas for a flawless foundation application that enhances foundation benefits and extends wear.
  • Oil free formula with SPF 15* is mineral-enriched to absorb oil and diffuse light to help reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and pores.
  • For all skin types, including sensitive skin.
  • Fragrance-free, dermatologist-tested and non-comedogenic.
  • Can be used with any Mary Kay® foundation.

I like that this product has SPF. (Mary Kay foundations don't)
I somewhat like the feel of the product. It's silky, not greasy. (It takes a min to absorb for foundation application)
Pores on my nose, chin, and forehead appear smaller.
My foundation goes on more smoothly.
My foundation lasts longer.
It doesn't do anything for my fine lines.

The Beauty Blender
The best tool I've ever used to apply my makeup.
It's fast and super easy to use.
It's hypoallergenic.
It can be used with liquids, creams, mineral, and wet/dry powders.

This product has been my lifesaver!
I have normal to dry skin.
So, It's difficult to apply foundation without it looking cake-y and flake-y.
I've been using this tool for a month now and love it!
I clean all of my beauty tools with baby shampoo.

Not afraid of the generic brands?
Some sellers on Ebay have some starting at $0.99!
I bought my "generic" brand at Marshall's for $3.99!

Motherly Advice

Have you ever wanted some advice from those mothers that seem to have it all together?
Here are some great tips from some of my favorite beautiful mothers!

"Sleep when the baby is sleeping!" -Cora
I'm sure this isn't the first time you've heard this. It's hard to have this mindset when there is laundry to do, dishes piling up, monstrous dust bunnies, and little bits of cereal and dirt in the carpet. Take a breath. Dishes can be done just before bedtime or as they are being dirtied. Instead of everyone putting their dishes in the sink, ask them to rinse out the dish and place it in the dishwasher. Simple steps like this will make everything easier on the Mommy!

"Dust can wait, babies can't, they grow much too quickly. Each stage is so precious you don't want to miss any." -Inetta
Noticing a trend? There will be time to do the chores. When the baby is very interested in playing or when the baby is eating (if they can self-feed) do some dusting, fold clothes, or sweep. Give the baby a sock or a dust rag too. It would be a fun game for the baby, and I'm sure the floors could use a little extra shine.

"Have at least 30 minutes for yourself and take a bubble bath." -Stacelyn
I can not express how important this is. Bubble baths are a must for any woman. Especially those that are stressed with a baby, school, work, chores, weddings, and various other things. I'm not saying have a bubble bath every night but once a week or twice a month is still better than never. Those 30 minutes to yourself could be in the morning before the baby wakes, or at night while the baby is sleeping. I usually take at least 15 at night before bed either way just to have my quiet time and read a little scripture.

"Keep to a simple routine and don't let yourself off the hook when you're tired. You'll feel much better!" -Jeanette
One of my favorite tips. This has been the most overlooked mistake I've been making. I'm a huge procrastinator especially if "I'm tired" or "not feeling good". I know I don't need to make excuses for myself. If you're anything like me, having something out of place bothers you. A lot. My bedroom was a wreck for two months and I never really did anything about it. I would avoid going into my own room if possible. It was insane. So, after our last trip to Cincinnati I decided it was time to get our bedroom back into shape. I need to be an example for Noah after all. I can't express how much better I've been sleeping and feeling since getting organized!

The only thing I'll add.
Wake up before the baby.
I know this isn't going to be possible for everyone especially those with newborns that wake-up every few hours. It may seem like you're losing a ton of sleep but really what's an hour or two if it helps you feel better? It's the perfect time to take a relaxing shower or bubble bath, read some scripture, start a load of laundry, and have breakfast without having to share.
